Volunteering or Work Placement

Surrey Reuse Network and its members operate across the county, helping thousands of people in need each year. Over 200 people volunteered or came as a work placement over the last year. Whether through the Department of Work and Pensions ‘Work Programme’, alternative return to work initiatives or any other supported schemes, they were placed at depots, showrooms and high street shops, helping deliver a range of vital services. We always need new people who can offer time, skills and energy

Get involved today. If you would like to volunteer or are looking for a work placement you can contact your local reuse project; their details can be found on any page. Alternatively send an email to telling us how you are interested helping the network and we will get back to you to discuss things further.

Where can I volunteer?

What commitment do I need to make?

  • You will need to commit yourself to at least one shift, usually about four hours, per fortnight
  • All volunteers need to be able to follow procedures, especially relating to commitment to equal opportunities and adherence to organisational policies of network members

What does Surrey Reuse Network offer me, as a volunteer?

  • The chance to give practical help to help other local people
  • Full training
  • The experience would also look good on your CV
  • Reimbursement of reasonable expenses

What experience do I need?

  • Drivers all need to have a clean driving license, which will cover them to drive vehicles up to and including 3.5 tonnes.
  • For any opening other than drivers, just bring along your enthusiasm and commitment. We’ll provide the rest.
